[SOLVED] Which 5TB Mobile HDD to choose from these two ?

Looking for a reliable mobile HDD external drive. Which one is better and more reliable?

WD Black 5TB Gaming External

LaCie Rugged 5TB USB-C External

LaCie is owned by Seagate, so you'll get a Seagate drive. My personal preference for externals is 3.5" models, not 2.5" port powered models.

This is for traveling (especially by air). 3.5 is not an option.

In reality, there isn't a real difference.

"Reliability" can only be seen across fleetwide numbers, not the individual drive on your desk.

Except for one or two outliers over the years, physical drive death is around 1% per year.
