Which 7870 OCs higher HIS or Sapphire?

Well, actually i bought the his brand (not turbo ver). But when i installed it, its core is at 1100mhz and the memory is at 1200. I havent oced it since its on a temporary rig. Im quite confused since it is supposed to be at 1000mhz. Btw, i used afterburner to view the clocks

All 7870 are ghz editions, there is no difference for 7870's unlike the 7970 (where there is different binning)

All 7870's are clocked at 1ghz stock and can be called ghz edition if the vendors decides they want that label (similar to the issue with the 7770)

7870 = 7870 ghz

To quote techpowerup form an review of the 7870/7870ghz

"As for the core clock, the HD 7870 has its core clocked at 1000 MHz, making it AMD's second "GHz Edition" SKU after the HD 7770"
http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/AMD/HD_7850_HD_7870/

HD700 chipset table only shows the 7870ghz, as the 7870 is the same card but with out the 7870 moniker
The ghz part is an marketing gimick

On a different note, the sapphire one is likely to get higher clocks due to its better cooler (heat won't be an issue) though AFAIK both have limited unlocked voltage so it's done to luck really

The Sapphire one also has a small factory OC which MAY mean better binning but not always (factory OC means the chip is stable at 1050mhz, doesn't mean it is binned any higher, some vendors due take higher binned chips to use in factory OC, but AFAIK sapphire and HI don't do that)

I would buy the Sapphire one as it is the cheaper 7870 out there and also has a slight factory OC, making the best price/perf 7870

You can also consider the 7870XT/LE which is only $235 after MIR from Sapphire at Newegg
