Which 8800GTS (G92) should I get for overclocking?

Would I be better off getting an OC one or non-OC?

I know it all depends on the chips, no two are exactly the same. But if you were going to get one of these between $300 and $350 to overclock which would it be? they come core clocked at 650mhz and most of the factory OC ones are only 675 when Ive seen people on here running them at 810mhz (I think)

Which would you guys recommend to be pushed the furthest?

That's a difficult question.

I would like to think that a factory OC'ed video card is better in quality, and thus it can OC higher than a non factory OC'ed video card. However this hasn't been proven, so I'd say just get the Evga.

Don't bother getting an OC G92 card. I have the stock 650 card and it easily OC's to the OC card rates. I've had mine to 750 w/ memory to 1000 without any effort. However these cards do not scale very well and the difference between stock speed and OC speed performance is minimal. 650 to 750 core gives you maybe 500-600 points in 3dmark06 and maybe 1-5 FPS depending on the game. I'd say more on the lower side of those FPS. The reason is that the G92 chips only have 16 ROPS and the GTX G80 chips have 24 ROPS whic is why they scale better on Overclocks.

I got the eVGA one and I would like to report I got 820 core, 1100 memory, and something shader.

The comment about it not overclocking well arent exactly true at least in 3dmark. I went from 13,600 to 15,000

That's around 5-10fps gain. Could be the difference between unplayable and playable or smoother game play.

Honestly, everything runs so good except crysis that I went back to stock speeds. 1300 3dmark boost is like 2 fps crysis boost or so its crap.

Oh and World in Conflict with 15000 3dmark=20 minimum fps in built in benchmark 🙁
