Hi guys,

I'm having trouble deciding on which 970 gtx card would be best for sli. I'm currently thinking the MSI Gaming may be the best, but any other suggestions would be appreciated.

Solution
my personal suggestion is the MSI Gaming 4G GTX 970. It has mil spec components 6 phase power on the GPU and 2 phase on the memory. Stock I blieve is 4+1. The Gigabyte G1 is also a nice card, but no where can I find what phase power it uses for the memory, but it is 6 phase on the GPU. So for GPU overclocking they will probably be in the same ball park. I just like the milspec components. The Gigabyte is one long card so take that into consideration. It also has the best output options. I believe HDMI, 3 DP, and 2 DVI. The MSI is 2 DVI, 1 HDMI, and 1 DP. So if you are planning for more than one display think that through.

I am running 2 MSI gtx970's now and they run like a dream. The stock fan profile is really good even when i OC...

MSI would probably be the best due to size. Although Gigabyte is very slightly faster, it's huge. You will have a lot more space in the case for airflow with the MSI cards.

Gigabyte and MSI do seem to be the best options. My case is a Bitfenix Shinobi XL, so I can fit a Gigabyte card, just wondering if it will have enough airflow too.

I am running 2 MSI gtx970's now and they run like a dream. The stock fan profile is really good even when i OC to 1300MHz on the GPU. The fan does not spin until it approaches 60C but ramps up pretty appropriately as the temp climbs. I love the cards.

I get an occasional buzzing, but it is from my power supply. Typically this is where you hear coil whine. My PSU is 5 years old and over the years with different video cards has experience a different level of coil whine. It all has to do with how much wattage your PSU is drawing at any particular time. Some of the electrical components can produce a high frequency whine or buzz sound, usually the coiled components. It doesn't necessarily mean anything is wrong. Some of these frequencies are above the normal hearing range for humans. Up to 15K I think is where older people can hear. Some people can, kids hear higher frequencies better than people in their 20-30s. It just electrical noise.
