Hi,
Asrock 990 FX Extreme 3 doesn't support FX 8350/8320.
Asus Pro or Evo are among the best 990 chipsets in my opinion for the price. If you will be running Windows 8, get the Asus M5A99FX R.2.0 PRO version.

Actual reviews on Newegg

Pros: Overall, I really liked this motherboard. It's layout is very good, and it's performance is good. I run it with two Sapphire 7870s in Crossfire, and the performance is great. It would have easily been five stars, except...

Cons: After I bought this motherboard, ASRock removed the AMD FX-8350 from the CPU compatibility chart. Why? Because the cooling on the VRMs(voltage regulators) is not sufficient for the amount of power the FX-8350 draws. This would not be a problem, except I have an FX-8350.

Most of the time, it works fine, but under very high loads, the VRMs overheat and the motherboard is forced to throttle the CPU until the VRMs have cooled. This is very frustrating, as it will take my framerate from 80+FPS in ARMA 3 to 5.

Other Thoughts: This board is advertised as "125 watt CPU compatible," which is true, except it does not support the top end 125 watt AMD 8 core cpu. NOWHERE on any of the Newegg pages does it say that this board does not support the FX-8350, which is a 125 watt AM3+ CPU. The only way to determine that it's not is to go to ASRock's website and look at the CPU compatibility chart. Very frustrating

This review is from: ASRock 990FX Extreme3 AM3+ AMD 990FX + SB950 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard with UEFI BIOS
Pros: It's a good stable board, has lots of features like PCIe 2.0 16x2 (which is why I got it) and for the price that's hard to beat. Lots of USB, build quality looks and feels nice. It POST for me right off the bat and for what I want it to do it's perfect.

Cons: Ok down to the nitty gritty. This board has overclocking potential DEPENDING ON WHAT CPU YOU HAVE/GET. If you have something like an AMD FX-8350 (like I do) even with a good cooling solution and everything that throttles/auto-power/turbo-mode turned off, this board WILL throttle your CPU by itself down to 1.4GHz. I have 7 case fans and a nice aftermarket Zalaman CNPS10X Performa with push pull config (that's 9 fans in total if you're counting) and it will still throttle. I read this in another review and they're absolutely right, this boards VRMs (Voltage Regulator Moduals) aren't the best, but that's what you get for the price folks. If you want to overclock a high-end CPU like the 8350, get something like a Sabertooth 990fx or Crosshair V Formula.

Other Thoughts: I wasn't planning on overclocking my CPU because it lowers it's life span. Pushing something past what it's meant to do will always wear that part out faster than if it was doing what it was meant to do. This board, for me anyways, does exactly what I want, and for the $ you honestly can't beat it. I'm going to throw in some nice GPU's in CFX and then sit pretty for a long time. If you want to overclock a high-end CPU do NOT get this board, or you'll be sorry you did when it throttles down to 1.4GHz after about 3mins of Prime95.
