Which adaptor for the pascal gpu???

My display only has a vga port but my new GTX 1050 TI has only dvi-d and HDMI.

And is it better to convert DVI to VGA than HDMI to vga???

That one should work, but I'd probably go with the DVI-D to VGA converter. That way, you don't have any audio issues.

That adapter, HDMI to VGA, should work.

I don't think you can convert from DVI-D, digital, to VGA since the DVI-D does not have any analog connections. You can only go from DVI-I, analog, to VGA.

Your new 1050Ti didn't come with a DVI to VGA adapter? Something like this?

I would get something like that instead of the HDMI to VGA adapter.

EDIT: After looking at pictures of the 1050Ti, it looks like the DVI plug is only DVI-D so you will have to use that HDMI to VGA adapter.

They do make active adapters for this.
Considering HDMI and DVI-D are completely compatible, it is only logical that if they can make an hdmi to vga active adapter they can make a dvi-d to vga active adaper

DVI-D to VGA Converter, or you could save 300 and go with what you originally linked. Either should work.
