Which AGP 939 motherboard shall i get?

which ones are good. £50 to £70 price range.

i found a Epox EP-9NDA3J 939 nforce 3 ultra chipset for £60.
Is this good, does anyone have any ther suggestions

The nforce 4 ultra is the best chipset for 939. Check what can you find with this chipset in the UK and then post it.

Oh sorry I didn't know that it had to be AGP.
Then I guess that Epox is a good option for the price.

I have the 9NDA3J. Decent board. The only objection I have is that Vdimm only goes up to 2.8V.

Aside from that, It's currently running nicely at 255x10, with 1Gb Crucial Ballistix PC4000.

Only got a couple of SATA ports, but I have a separate SATA card anyway so I stuck with that.

would it take 2 hard disks, and with it being nvidia chipset will my ATI have any problems.

Also on the pic there seens to be some round thing inbertween the AGP slot and PCI's will this cause a problem with the fan on my ATI 9800 pro for currently the fan alignes with the pci slot. (big fan, "Ice cool" fan as big a card its self)

Congrats!!! you are the 1,000,000 the noob to ask that frigginng question...

Have that little squirel to spin that wheel faster in your head and ask yourself if it was the case, dont you think about the enormous scandal that this would have done???? If you had a compagny, would you rather sell your product to maybe 30%(I dont know the current share nvidia graphic card has and I dont care.. so take that as an example, no more) of the market available because you make it incompatible with AGP or PCIe standard or you rather want 100% of the available market and make your product to support the whole AGP and PCIe standard??

Once again, have that little squirel to spin faster and ask yourself what that round thing, about the size of a quarter, and silver could it be? Do I have one in my current motherboard? Maybe I should look at it and have a clue...

If you want to correctly assemble your question, please, put some more efforts in researching and if it is the board you want to get, download the manial fron Epox website.. you will have answer to about 99% of every question you may have.

But you'll rather do as 90% of all other that think that they know everything and spend 2 weeks, 4 mobo RMA, 2 CPU RMA, 10 HDD corruption, 15 no post, 6 Windowns install tentatives,... because they rely on their limited knowledge and keep posting stupid question instead of going directly to the source and read about the various component.

Did you go tu nvidia website and read about nforce3 chipset? Did you search for some review of that board on the internet, other that THG?...

I dont mean to be rude, but if you cant figure why Epox put a quarter on their board, then get a Dell..

Pat WTF are u on a bout, in your last 2 posts not one of my questions was answered, all i asked was:

will there be a conflict between ATI and Gforce
And will the cicle thing betweem the AGP and PCI slots cause any problem with fitting my fan.

if you have not got anything constructive to say just dont post.

back to the subject at hand I like the Asus A8N-E Socket 939 myself. I have had good luck with it like all my other Asus Boards.

I have the MSI K8N Neo 2 Platinum, a Winchester 3000+ @ 2.2GHz, and a BFG 6800 Ultra OC AGP. I am very happy with the motherboard. Only change I'd make is replacing the Corsair PC4000 Cas 3 with some Patriot low latency ram.

With due respect my 2 cents worth is Asus A8N-E for you it has allmost everything
good vdimm corrections
good raid setup
allmost everything except sli 😉

But its just me talking I recently got Asus A8N SLI DLX and its fabbbuuulllooouuusss

😎 & 😱 is my frame of mind
so enjoy life but!!!!!

will there be a conflict between ATI and Gforce
Definitively, as it has been, and it is still discussed in various web site and tech journal as why nvidia keep making chipset that are incompatible with ATI, since nforce1 in 2000 up to the newer nforce4.... Seriously...did you hear anything serious about incompatibility??? no user complaining in forum, but within the industry itself? Should be easy to figure now..

And will the cicle thing betweem the AGP and PCI slots cause any problem with fitting my fan.
Seriously, you still havent figured out what is that round thing?? Common, download the manual and have a look at it because if I tell you what it is, you'll feel stupid....

if you have not got anything constructive to say just dont post.
Insisting in you getting the answer by researching yourself is much more construtive than giving you answer right on...

If you dont put effort in learning, you'll never learn. Period.

look "Pat" and Wusy" i am no computer experct and do not know what the circle thing is and if Ati is compatable with nforce chip set so can you stop taking the piss.

(thanks rasputin for actually speaking about the topic)

So will my 9800pro be ok in a Epox nforce 3 and will my fan on the card fit for the circle thing is in the middle. (i am not saking what the cirle thing is).

And is Asus boards better than Epox?

Ahem. Note the subject of the thread:
Which AGP 939 motherboard shall i get?
.... 😱 ...

You'll not have any problems sticking a 9800Pro in an Nforce3 board. In fact I had a 9800Pro in mine for a while. And my 9800Pro needed a lot more room than your does, believe me... . Just to give you an idea, when that card was installed I couldn't use 3 of the PCI slots on that board...

I'll tell you what the 'round thing' is, even though you might see just how obvious it is really, since every motherboard I've ever seen has had one somewhere... It's a battery. It's something like 1/4" thick, so it's not even at the same height as a PCI slot, and won't get in the way of anything.
