My son wants to upgrade my computer for WOW and similar games.
I have an HP A810,160GB HD,2GB Ram with an AGP slot and standard PCI...not express.
I would like to load Windows 7 but could keep XP if need be.
I would like an HDMI output.
The system will be used as an entertainment system for the living room. Main uses;blueray, music, gaming,on line movies and surfing.
What cards will work well and how would the best ones differ in performance. Also How can I utilize Directv using the 1 reciever I have?

You're likely to run into issues with virtually any AGP card with Windows 7. They're an outgoing technology, and driver support for Windows 7 is spotty, if it exists at all. So it's going to be a roll of the dice. You could try what this guy did, using the Vista hotfix drivers and then installing the device driver itself manually through Device Manager:

But honestly, you may be better off rolling back to XP, which is what I assume came with that computer. I don't think Windows 7 does a hell of a lot of good on an older system, may actually eat up a significant amount of resources that your system could put to better use.

Also, if it turns out you can't get this card to work, I'd send it back and try a 4670. It's a step up over the 4650and uses just as little power.
