I plan on replacing the mobo/CPU in my current PC. I'm only doing this because the CPU I have now just isn't enough to run the games I want to play. I am going to upgrade to an i5 6500. There are two boards that are almost identical. The only difference between them (that I can see, correct me if wrong) is that one has a USB type C port and the other has an m.2 slot.

https://www.asus.com/us/Motherboards/H170M-E-D3/ $89.99
https://www.asus.com/us/Motherboards/B150M-PLUS-D3/ $79.99 ($57 after rebate)

My issue is that I currently have an m.2 wifi adapter (no easy way to get Ethernet to room). If I go with the cheaper board I would have to purchase an m.2 to pci adapter (if that's possible) or purchase a PCI/PCIE wifi adapter. That would bring the total cost around $100 ($75 after rebate). The initial purchase would be more but after the rebate I would save money. Is there any significant difference between the H170 and B150 chipsets? Which would you choose?

Oh. Didn't realize that I would need to do that. I was only going to get the 7500 because it was a dollar more than the 6500 and the performance is just a hair better. I'm currently using DDR3 and I don't see any B250/H270 boards that accept DDR3 on pcpartpicker. At least not for that socket. I'll go ahead and edit the original post to say 6500.
