Hi, I will buy a ryzen surely the 3600 (after seeing the reviews) and for the moment am looking for a motherboard. The best options that i found for my budget at least in my country are this ones:
  • Gigabyte b450 aorus elite ($120)
  • Asus TUF B450M-PLUS GAMING ($115)
  • Asus ROG STRIX B450-F GAMING ($140)
  • Asus PRIME X370-PRO ($145)
  • MSI B450 TOMAHAWK($145)
In this moment I'm considering specially the two cheaper ones, but can't be sure, don't know much about motherboards. So my questions are, from those options which one you think is better? as I said I will use it with a ryzen 3600 or maybe a 2600, only for gaming and I will make soft overclock. Also does it worth the expensive ones? and about X370, I know that it has more phases but it's also an older chipset do you think that is better than the others even being older?
Please try to not make other suggestions, those are the ones in my local stores and buying one on amazon or newegg is more expensive (high taxes). Thanks

Some might disagree but I would suggest buying a used motherboard from eBay. I currently have a gigabyte aorus ax370 gaming 5 which only cost me £80 but yet to still dicide if it should be used in my new build. I've been doing some research as I'm in a similar situation and it seems the only difference between x370 and x470 is OC ability when it comes to ram. That being said it's starting to looks like Ryzen 3000 will be like the first gen favouring latency over MHz at around 3800mhz at a push you can get close to those sorts of speeds with the first gen. Because you're going for the 6 core the powerstages on the b350, x370, b450 and x470 will be plenty i just wouldn't go beyond 8 cores unless it's got 12 power phases such as the x370 Asus crosshair. The only issue on the x370 is the way memory channels are managed which might not take well to a newer CPU which is designed to work with daisy chained channels. I cant remember the proper terminology for it tho.

Of that pick the prohibitive favorite is MSI B450 Tomahawk. Most any of the others should work passingly well for a 3600 as it's only a 65W TDP processor, but the Tomahawk has the cooler-running VRM for better power delivery should you consider moving up to an 8 or even 12 core... or overclocking.

How much is the B450 Steel legend? This is about the same as tomahawk and generally lower price.
The steel legend doesn't have as strong a VRM and runs hotter with a less well-finned heatsink.

That doesn't mean it will be 'bad', though. Especially since R3K processors draw less power than even R2k. It should run even 12 core CPU's at stock speeds and 8 core if mildly overclocked. I wouldn't want to experiment with the 16 core though.
