Which band should I use ?

Hi,

I have been trying to improve my signal strength of my 5 GHz band by moving the router and adapter around, but it still doesn't reach a satisfactory level. So I wondered if it was worth the effort.

The 2.4 GHz band has stronger signal , while the 5 GHz band supposedly has a greater bandwidth. So which one should I use ?
