Which benchmark is the best(CPU)?

I keep looking at PassMark to indicate which processor has the best IPC, but is that site the best(feels most trusted)?
I'm happy to look elsewhere, as my a6-6310 is underperforming for my tasks and I was looking forward to an i3-6100u, despite its lack of being 4 actual cores. Then, again, RY Zen laptops aren't far away.

Even so, when I game, the A6 laptop overheats and restarts on me, so I was thinking going Intel, but I hope RY Zen does a good job on thermals and doesn't throttle as much as the A6, or even the Excavators throttle, unlike Intel.

$350 - $400 max. It wasn't inteded as a high-performer just a bit more performance is better.
