Which better Intel® Core™2 Duo E7500 OR AMD Athlon II X3 425 ?

AMD Athlon II X3 425 2.7GHz - It has three cores instead of two on the Core 2 Duo, and generally it performs faster. The Core 2 Duo will only perform faster if the application only needs high clock speeds and one or two cores.

If you have a motherboard which has the AMD SB710 chipset, you have the chance of unlocking it into an AMD Athlon II X4, although it is not guaranteed.

Depends on what you're using it for. Anything multi threaded or multitasking the 425 will be better, Anything that favors clock speed the e7500 will be better. I'd go with the 425 because it will perform the same or better right now compared to the e7500 and in the future as more apps use more than two cores the 425 will be even better. Also socket 775 is dead and if you like intel get a 1156 and get an i5. Socket am3 which is what the 425 uses will be used for awhile and the upcoming thuban (6-core) processors from amd will be compatible with socket am3.

bur i can't understand the difference between multi threaded or multitasking and clock speed .

-Multi Threaded: an app that is multi threaded can use multiple CPU cores. So if you run a threaded app, it can use all of the 425's 3 cores at the same time.
-Multitasking: running multiple apps at once (i.e. Word, internet and a game)
-Clock speed: how many GHz a CPU core has.
