Which Blu-Ray Writer Should I get?

*Note that the LG CH12NS30 doesn't appear to write to BD only reads them.

Why not get THIS ONE for only $50?

I bought one for my dad, and also got a pack of M-Discs to store his pictures on (They were a 10-pack of 4.3GB for about $35 but meant for long-life so we burnt them and put them in a box.)

UPdate:
*Whichever model you get, check when the LAST FIRMWARE update was done. If it's over two years ago I'd forget about that model.

**THIS MODEL appears to be slightly older, but it's the model I got and noticed the customer feedback score is BETTER at the LG site so maybe consider it instead ($57 cheapest through pcpartpicker):
http://www.lg.com/us/data-storage/lg-WH14NS40

If you click "support" you find the last firmware update was in APRIL 2014 which is good (adds support for newer discs though it's not always needed. It may just mean a disc runs slower than optimal).

The size should be pretty much standard except for a variation in LENGTH which shouldn't matter.

The model I recommend isn't there, and I'm not sure about the new LG.

So I guess the PIONEER BDR-209DBK which is the same one recommended already anyway.

(Sorry I didn't notice the AU links)

*See if it has a firmware update.

Update:
I just went back to the LG site and noticed the comments on the LG-WH16NS40 were only based on FIVE comments (two bad) so it's pretty hard to judge by that. The AVERAGE elsewhere was much better like pcpartpicker.

So I'd say either of these LG's or the Pioneer mentioned.

I love the your image... It's tattooed on my arm lol...

The triple-eyed smiley-face from the movie EVOLUTION?

Lol, Yeppers.
