Well darn, missed 2nd batch on newegg of the MSI Twin Frozr GTX970, they sold out so fast on newegg. Got the email notification it was back in stock, was about 20 minutes away from home, rushed hoping to grab one in time, by the time I got home and logged into newegg...out of stock

Now that some time has passed, are any other brand models on par? Seems the MSI TF version is the best rated and most well regarded. Also (i have a mid tower, 11' length is just managable so I cant use the longer card versions)

Solution
The MSI GTX 970 is supposed to be great, I've good things about the Gigabyte too, the Asus one has the lowest clock speed but supposed to be very stable and respectable too, and not like it couldn't just be overclocked.

As others have sad, I'd avoid EVGA. Sad as they're usually regarded as the best Nvidia GPU maker. Wonder what made them mess up their GTX 970 model.

I'm thinking hard about upgrading to a GTX 970 myself. If I sold my 7950 the upgrade would cost me maybe ~200
MSI Gaming/Gigabyte G1 Gaming (too long, greater then 11 inches. This was for other users deciding the same thing.)

If you like the look of the MSI better get that, looks is important. The MSI has been getting great reviews so no shame in recommending you to buy one before stock runs out.

MSI/Gigabyte/Asus will serve you well. I would stay away from EVGA. They were never considered to be the best nvidia non-reference cooling solution makers. Their ACX stuff was always way hotter than MSi/Asus/Gigabyte and even Galaxy I think. Just go on linustechtips and see for yourself a comparison of GTX 760 or 770 non-reference and the ACX one blows.
