Which build: AMD FX 8350 or Intel i5 4440?

Put together 2 separate builds but I need help deciding which one is better overall for my needs.I will playing games from Battlefield 3/4, to next gen games. Future upgradeability and long life is important too.

I think you should get the intel version, but instead swap out that cpu for the 4670k and drop down to a mobo that costs around 140-150. The 4670k is only $10 more on newegg. Go for a decent mobo like the ASRock z87 Extreme4 or similarly priced model from asus or msi.

Oh I forgot to mention all the prices are in NZ Dollars so the my listed components are about 16% more than USD because of currency conversion. My motherboard and some other components will have to be bought in NZ.

If the net cost is even more, then go with the 8350. It trades blows with the 4670k anyways.

4670k would cost 225 used, or 270 new from amazon. The asrock board would cost 200 for me in NZ so it is more $$.

Yea, z87's are more expensive, but dropping down in overall quality/specs of the mobo may still have saved some money. The thing that makes z87's better is the fact that you can overclock your cpu. The i5-4440 can't be overlclocked so the h87 was better suited for it.

Go with the AMD FX 8350 option. It's definitely a better buy in this case and you'll have the option to overclock as well.
