Actually - neither. Don't bother purchasing a low power i5 and the Trinity is a capable CPU but it's not really meant for hardcore gaming.

First build is perfect, the i5 is the best option.
Don't get either the FX-6300 or the i3, the i5 is better, it's performance is equal to the other i5 at stock, the only thing missing is the on die gpu, you won't be needing it, some even want the cpus without on die gpu, also it has a lower power consumption, that i5 isn't crippled, and it has a promo code, which in the end it costs down to 169.99$.
I'd get it without thinking twice.
