I'm looking at building my first gaming pc Yey! I've made two builds on pc partpicker with relatively similar price points, and I was wanting some input on which to get. The things that give me my dilemma in choice are the free game code for Assassin's creed Origins (+1 to Ryzen based Jotun I), however, I would also like to stream on twitch (+1 to the i7 based Menhir I). So, I would like some advice before I actually decide which build to officially go with. They are basically the same build, except for the mobo and the processor.

Jotun I: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/4mQZ6X

Menhir I: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/6xxGr7

Solution
Comments on Jotun:
1. waste of money on 1700X and expensive 3rd party cooler, 1700 can be easily oced on par or better than 1700X with stock cooler
2. Get 3200 ram
3. PSU is overkill, any 600+ good quality will do
4. MB not good enough for serious 8 core overclocking
5. Monitor too small and non-gsync.
6. Hitachi is poor quality

Comments on Menhir:
1. No old Gen Intel build anymore! Get coffee lake 8th gen I7/I5 build
2. Actually 1700X streams better than 7700k

Note: If you can stretch the budget a bit, get the Asus Strix E gaming board. Its really good bang for buck. The board comes with lots of connectivity options, overclocking potential and features like superior audio codec with headphone amps, bluetooth and wifi.

I will go with this Ryzen build with your budget (RGB featured case, ram + 27'' Gsync 144Hz monitor):

I appreciate this build, as it is very nice, however, I was also looking for the RGB aspect of the builds. Thanks tho!

I'm not the biggest fan of the case, plus, I know that the p400s is easy to work with, so I may stick with that. Also, a 23' monitor should be big enough for me, because currently, I am gaming on a 17" laptop, but the g-sync is a good point. I will take your advice on the cpu and cooler, because they are pretty much the same processor, and the 1700 on overclock should be decent for streaming (though I am inexperienced in overclocking). I've also changed to the suggested psu, because again, you were right, 350+ watts of headroom is a bit overkill. Also, I would still want the rgb and aura headers on the mobo, so I upgraded to the strix x-370 which should be a better board for overclocking (also, I've heard that the bios are easier to use). The hdd is also a seagate 3tb (I really need a lot of storage because I do put a hell of a lot of stuff on my computers like VST-I's, games, sound samples, videos etc. etc.) Thanks for your help! You have helped me very much!

Thanks, I would have gone with an 8th gen cpu on the Menhir, but I didn't know they existed (yup, I'm a scroob nub 😛), and pcpartpicker didn't have any listed. I was also looking for. I do appreciate you trying to keep it rgb w/the mobo too!
