which card should i get

i recently built a new system
fx6350
asrock 970 extreme4
corsair cx600'
8gigs of ram

i am going to be getting a new card to replace my old gtx550ti i have a budget of $200-$300 i do not have to spend $300 but i am willing to. what would be a good card to max most settings in games , if there is something that meets my needs in the $200 range i will put the rest towards a ssd.

You can get most performance in these two cards which are $250-$300
1)Nvidia GTX 760
2)AMD R9 280x
These two have great performance and you can play most games in high setting, you wont have any problem.

If you think that getting an ssd may improve your gaming experiance you are wrong. You will get quick loading, but in the gaming performance gpu is a main factor. If you want to play games in high settings, i suggest you to get a good gpu for that money.

But if you insist on getting an ssd for other purposes then you can consider trimming your money on the gpu and throw some for an ssd.
