Hello,

I am developing an OpenGL application to perform real time 3D facial
animation synchronized with speech. I'm moving to a Linux platform and
am currently in the market for a new workstation. The configuration
I'm currently looking at has dual Opteron 242 processors with 1GB RAM.
Any suggestions on a graphics card? The application needs to render
about 1 million shaded and lighted triangles per second, and uses
about 50 MB of memory. Any thoughts or recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Something like a FireGL or QuadroFX, I guess. Generally out of my price
range- my ATI 9600SE doesn't make Maya crash, and that's good enough for me.

Do a Google on FireGL and QuadroFX- there are several models varying in
price wildly ($500 to $2000, although as a £ user i'm guessing at the $
figures).

I also heard somewhere you can install FireGL drivers on Radeon, and make it
into a FireGL. Haven't tried it yet.
