Hi guys,

I made the mistake a couple of years back of buying an Alienware Aurora R4 and have now decided to build a new system.

The only parts I intend reuse are the cpu (i7 3930k) and my gpu (Evga gtx 780 acx classified)

I'm undecided on a case, particularly because my gpu has the acx cooler, so the heat stays in the case, so it needs good airflow.

I won't be going sli, water cooling or anything like that, so is a Haf x v2 overkill ?

If so can you suggest a case that still will keep everything nice and cool without going that big if it's not needed.

The motherboard I was thinking of is this one http://www.scan.co.uk/products/asus-p9x79-intel-x79-s-2011-ddr3-sata-iii-6gb-s-sata-raid-pcie-30-(x16)-atx but I'd appreciate any suggestions.

These are the rest of the components I had in mind- Corsair Memory Vengeance Low Profile Black 8GB DDR3 1600 MHz

Seasonic SS-860XP Platinum 860W Power Supply

Noctua D14 cooler

Crucial m500 480gb ssd

Many thanks in advance for any advice.

i recommend this cae

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Fractal-Design-ARC-Midi-Case/dp/B00AWZQ4FI/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1394914355&sr=8-1&keywords=fractal+design+arc+midi+r2

it's a beast of a case with easily removable fan filters and support for 140mm fans all the way around and watercooling in the top and front. also you can move the drive cages on the inside to accomadate better cooling, and it's a really great price for all that it does, should last you years to come it was the case i would like to get for myself

as far as mobo recommendations that link is broken i can't clicky
