Hi

As the topic title, which cheapest mini-itx motherboard has DTS 5.1 capability via S/PDIF? The motherboards I've found are over a £100! I'm looking for somewhat cheaper price if possible.

Also if the motherboard can be used to do good overclocking, has a couple of sata 6 ports, then that would be brilliant.

Thank You

hi mate, are you asking about the amp? Yes the Amp does have phono connections, but not sure if thats classed as analogue....I honestly am happy with the optical cable connection, but just want to make sure I can get DTS 5.1

honestly any motherboard with normal 3.5mm outputs to the phono inputs on your surround amp will sound massively better than the optical because of the compression to get 5.1 over the optical.

if your amp has hdmi input you could use hdmi audio from your graphics card instead for even better quality and a single connection.

if your adamant on optical then you want to look for a motherboard with optical out and dts connect.

Unfortunately my Amp doesn't have HDMI. It does have analogue inputs, but the problem I have is that in order to rewire from pc to amp, I have to life the floor of the living room! YES! I've taken the wire(s) under the floor to keep it nice and neat.

BTW, I know this is not an audio/visual forum, but can you recommend any HDMI amps with speakers/home cinema systems, I can buy that have come out within the last few years? I can then buy a 2nd hand amp system.

PS: I've chosen the Asus P8H77-I Mini-ITX motherboard
