Ok. I will use my pc for gaming and surfing the internet nothing else like editing. Would the g3258 bottleneck gtx 760?
what games do you play most? games are only going to become more and more complex and the 6300 will work better for future games built for multi cores. I don't think either of those processors would bottleneck enough to really notice. I am using i-3 3220 w/ r9 270x and have been able to run everything I want so far on high / ultra mix. If you like to play new games and you don't plan to buy an i-5 once there is a game you don't run well then you might wanna look into the other. the pentium is definitely solid for the price and if you plan to buy an i-5 later it uses the same socket as well. the fx 4350 is really good for the price as well having 4 instead of 6 cores but much higher clock speed for about 10$ more.
g3258 supports maximum ram of 1333 and the 6300 supports 1866 both types of ram cost the same $. if you do plan to upgrade later and you buy 8gb of ddr 1333 now with the pentium and upgrade to an i-5 later you will still have the 1333. if you got the pentium would you even be overclocking it? that is the biggest upside to that processor and if your not going to then the gap between the 2 goes away. if you plan to overclock anywhere near the 4.7 which is highest i've seen test at running stable your going to need a better more expensive motherboard and cooling. not to mention a lot of patience is you are not already familiar with all of that.
