Which components should I upgrade for my file server( I am planning to change it back to a desktop,and use my other PC as file server instead)
200USD only(changed from sgd)
Current specs:
I3 2120
Biostar h61mgv with ivy bridge CPU support bios update
8gb rcmemory ram 1333mhz
3tb hdd toshiba
Which components should I upgrade to?
Option 1: i5 3470
Option 2:Asrock H77M
Option 3:intel SSD
I can also upgrade the other desktop:
Current spec
I3 540
4gb ram Samsung 1333mhz
500gb hdd
Nvidia GeForce 315
Wifi card
Option 1:upgrade processor to ???
Option 2:intel ssd
I can upgrade both but must be in budget

I would go with the SSD first. Most bang for the buck

For whichever will be your desktop, I would install a SSD for the os and some apps.
I presume that would be the i3-2120 based pc.
The performance improvement is dramatic.

No need to change either motherboard.

Only if you have well multithreaded and cpu bound apps would a 3470 be good.

Also which intel ssd fits in the 200$?i want the best that's under 200$,and I want intel as they last longer.
