[SOLVED] Which computer is better for my next build

Hi

First off i want to say thank you for taking the time to assist today im currently about to buy my new gaming pc, my dream for a long time but have always been unable to do this my grandmother passed away recently and left me money £3000 with specific instruction to buy my dream rig so want to do her proud lol, i currently have 2 MSI Optix AG32CQ 31.5 QHD 144hz Monitors im posting the specs heres With the amd vs intel builds ive put together over past few months with a little bit about what sort of things i play and do,

Some of the games i play are

Star citizen
Arma 3
Ark
Escape from tarkov
Gta
Flight simulator 2020 (quite demanding apparantly when released)

i also want to introduce the HTC VIVE into my life in the near future

whilst playing i also stream from time to time also now ive done so much research on these system parts and i know usually intel is king in gaming but alot of ppl are also loving the amd so as you can imagine its a tad confusing, i just want something that will run everything i need on max settings with smooth and fast fps whilst also future proofing, the systems are the following also i know the new intels have been released but that takes me over budget

if you do streaming, rendering, and stuffs that really need the power of cpu, go for the ryzen (especially for your upcoming HTC VIVE), also change that ram to 2x16gb 3200mhz, if performance is what you need, cause it took time to reach 4x8gb @3000mhz on manual.

I wouldn’t even look at the i9 9900k, it’s been superseded by the i7 10700k or i7 10700kf which in the UK are about £100 cheaper.

The 2080Ti is also a tough pill to swallow. The 3000 series should be out later this year and if NVidia hold to normal improvements the 3080 should be equal or better than the 2080Ti but at significantly lower price. The 2080Ti’s price for being the best gaming gpu is now going to be short lived.

I mean to be fair i wont be waiting until lter on in the year this is why im looking now it also does say in the post that it increases the cost for the 10th gens so wont be needing that the i9 are fine

Don’t look at 10th gen i9, the equivalent to the 9900k is the new i7’s. It should be cheaper and even if it is the same price you will at least have a motherboard that has cpu upgrade options. Hopefully z490 will also support 11th gen as Intel tend to support 2 generations of cpu with each motherboard chipset. The Z390 and and 9900k has no cpu upgrade path without buying a new motherboard. It’s up to you but if my money Id skip 9th generation.

Your Intel option I’d just swap in a Z490 with desired features and a 10700kf. Your AMD option looks good. I’d have a nagging about buying a 2080Ti when it has maybe 3-6 months left of being the king of gaming at that premiere price but if you are ok with that then good to go.

If I had to choose I’d pick the AMD option for the extra cores and threads but at QHD both systems will be gpu limited and perform near identically.
