Hi all,
I've noticed by cpu and disk usage are relatively high when playing games.
Although it could just be the games using it all up, I'd prefer to have a good enough part so that games won't use the entire cpu/disk
All in all, which parts would need an upgrade to fix this?

Edit: changed wording down below

I guess what I'm asking is
When I play my cpu usage and disk usage both spike up to around 99%. I would like to maybe use chrome in the background or have anything open in the background. I usually close everything since the usages are so high. So I am considering upgrading the parts that control CPU usage or Disk usage.
Side notes: My gaming experience is consistent and smooth. Not staggery or anything. My main concern is the usage being dangerously high

Jenna, I believe your asking why when playing a game your cpu and hard drive usage is so high? well the answer varies from game to game but yes in general games are hog for cpu, memory and hard drive usage. if you feel the game is not "working well or lagging or choppy" then some things can be considered to be upgraded, video card is a common and easy upgrade, if you only have 4gb or ram on your system one would suggest 8GB or 16GB, but that is only if you have windows x64 bits, because x32 bit windows only handled up to 4gb of ram to work with. as for upgrading other parts of your system like Motherboard , this will depend on your CPU and Vice Versa. and we would need a lot more information about your system to provide more clear itemized solutions for you.

Jenna,

What version of windows do you use ? 7,8,10 ? 32 bits, 64 bits?
What is the make of your computer and model (if purchased whole like a Dell LS720)
if not whole but built computer what is your Motherboard and CPU Make and model

why do I ask these things?, I could say sure upgrade to 16gb because 4gb is not enough, but I have no idea if your version of window can handle it, nor if your system is capable of having additional memory installed. so we need to check.

if you have no idea what I am talking about, acquire SPECCY (free) from this page (click this link)
run it and it will automatically identify your hardware details., if you could write it down here

for example Speccy reports to me

Another way to give parts which gives the windows version as well,

download hwinfo32,
install and open it=click run,
close the top window which is the system summary,
at the left top click "save report",
at the bottom of the next window check "short text report",
after that you'll see what's in the pc,
copy by clicking "copy to clipboard" and rightclick+paste in your next respons
