Question Which cooler should be used?

No overclocking, Intel stock operation* [Caution! Some motherboards do not follow Intel stock operation out of the box; they are tweaked for some extra performance already... but they will run warmer because of that.]:
Air: think dual towers, like NH-D15 or similar, and large single tower, like Thermalright's Le Grand Macho RT or similar. There's also the unique NH-U12A which can rival the larger models.
Hybrid: 240mm performance or larger.

Possible overclock, or use of 1-click OC features:
Air: Just skip it.
Hybrid: 280mm performance* or larger, and custom liquid. [There's 2 different types of hybrids, performance and low noise. The latter does just what it says, but sacrifices performance. Should be avoided for overclocking, as they serve a different purpose.]

I would say a Noctua D15 or D15S

should I go with a Corsair h150i pro with a 360mm radiator and 3 120mm fans? Or the h100i 240mm radiator with 2 120mm fans. I know the h150i is best in terms of performance since my system will run hot but I’m also using a mid tower. Will the h100i be enough cooling or should I go through the trouble of squeezing in the h150i.

A 240mm AIO is no better than a good air cooler. If you plan on overclocking a 9900k then you want something better so a 280 or 360mm AIO.

I am not breaking any rules asking the same question about different systems at different times. Sometimes I don’t get an answer...If your not here to give advice but only to tell me I can’t repost then you are wasting my time as well as your own. DONT DO THAT. Find someone else to attack

Not attacking. Quite the opposite...trying to help.

Asking the same thing in multiple threads leads to conflicting information. The various respondents don't have the answers to questions that were asked in the other ones.
