Which core i5 processor family?

I have no idea what Skylake or any of that means. I want an i5 6600K for a gaming build. Is Skylake what I want?

Skylake is a family of processors ranging from high-end Core i7-6700K over upper-midrange Core i5-6600K to budget models like the Core i3-6100.

The Core i5-6600K is a really good option for a gaming build, paired with a Z170 motherboard and a good CPU cooler.

Skylake is a name Intel game to a cpu core design. It Intel's newest and fastest cpu core. Currently all intel LGA-1551 6XXX series cpu's are based on the skylake core.. They are fast and good at practically everything..
