Which Corsair liquid cooler to choose for my CPU?

Hey guys! Kinda new to all of this so bear with me here. I just recently got all my parts for my PC that I am building and am at the part where I am installing my liquid cooler. It's a Corsair H90 Liquid cooler and I was super excited to put it into my NZXT Phantom PHAN-001WT tower. Unfortunately, the fan that comes with it is a 140 mm fan that doesn't fit on the rear vent where the stock fan originally was. I guess I have a couple questions here.

I don't plan on overclocking so do I really need a liquid cooler?

If I decide to install this, is there anyway that I can still use the H90 liquid cooler? I see that the top has a 140 mm fan so I could maybe install it through there and run it through the lint vent that is right next to it. I'm just trying to see if I can get any use out of the H90 cooler that I've got. I'm kind of skeptical of having the radiator and stuff on the top of my tower.

Last question. If there was no way for me to be able to use the H90, what series would be right for the tower that I have? It looks like the H55 would be my best bet, as I have an AMD motherboard and the H50 only supports Intel motherboards.

*Edit* The fan on the H55 cooler is a 120mm fan

1.)You could top mount it if you have a top fan mount. Heat rises not a bad place to put it.
2.) Don't be skeptical about your radiator being on top I'll share a picture of my rig I have a h105 its perfectly fine up there I suppose the question is whether or not you feel comfortable removing the 200mm fan on the top. Personally I may consider returning the h90 for a h80i since its 120mm radiator versus the 140mm you purchased. Your case only supports 120 on the rear.

Personally I may consider returning the h90 for a h80i since its 120mm radiator versus the 140mm you purchased. Your case only supports 120 on the rear.

Thank you so much! I'm going to go ahead and send back that H90 and get myself an H80i. I just realized that fan on the top was a 200mm and not a 140mm. So it'd be a little bit awkward.

In the mean time, I'll just put the heat sink that I got with my CPU on that for now so I can finish this blasted thing and then replace it when I get my H80i.

Can't wait to start wiring!

You live and learn I guess. Next time pay special attention to fan sizes. I know the feeling as well just having everything there to finish off your build. It'll be over soon trust me
