I'm using an i5-4690K in my new build and was wondering what would be better for overcooling?

I get that AIO liquid coolers are better than air coolers, especially for overclocking, but I'm looking at a 120mm radiator. I was wondering if a 120mm radiator liquid cooled CPU would be better or worse than higher-end air cooler, especially when it relates to overclocking.

AIO liquid coolers are not by definition better. The NH-D14 is about on the level of a H100i. It is much, much better than the H50.

AIO's are great for small form factor systems (as high end air coolers are typically very bulky) and they often look really good, but to beat top end air cooling you'd need a cooler like the H105 or Swiftech's H220X and H240X, which are way more expensive.
