Hello, I've got 2 PC's, one with config:
i7 4770k @4.3ghz / 16gb DDR3 CL9 @2133mhz / Gigabyte GTX 1080 Ti 11gb - whole build watercooled.
Display: MSI Optix MAG27CQ Curved 144hz / 1440p

The second one with:
i74770k @4.1ghz / 32gb DDR CL9 @1866mhz / Gigabyte GTX 1080TI 11gb DUO SLI - watercooled.
Display: Acer Predator XB271HUbmiprz 165hz/ 1440p

I want to upgrade CPU's in both stations because I think they've might bottleneck GPU's (at least in duo sli build).
Well, I'd like to upgrade my cpu's anyway... but I don't know which gen should I pick...

The question is - should I get 7th,8th or maybe 9th gen(then I'll wait few months) cpu to have a break for like 1-2+ years?

I've been thinking about:
7820x / 7700k / 8700k / 8086k

Considering I'll basically have to change mobo+ram aswell can you recommend something?

I prefer white mobos coz my whole build is white themed :p
Also, would be cool if You can recommend me some nice "clean" DDR4's coz I've got LC RAM Block too :/

For the 8700K, don't look at the base clock. It turbo boost to 4,7 GHz and with a good cooler, it shouldn't be to hard to reach 4,9 or 5 GHz.
The 9th gen I7-9700K or I9-9900K is probably even better. It has 2 more cores and...
Those CPUs are still fine for todays games. Don't upgrade just because you think they might bottleneck. Upgrade if your current system doesn't perform good enough for your needs.

If you decide to upgrade, then the 8700K is the best option. Sure the 8086K is a small bit faster but not worth the extra cost imho. As you are mentioning yourself, I would probably wait for the new I9-9900K.

7820x: nope, the price/performance is terrible compared to your other options... as well as being slower.
7700k: a good cpu, but why get older gen when you can get the latest?
8700k: this right here is your strongest option, I believe.
8086k: this is just a cherry-picked 8700k, and is not worth the ~$100 extra price premium. If you didn't win it during the sweepstakes, leave it be.
9xxx: eh, I guess you could wait a few more months... it'll just be ANOTHER 5, maybe 10% IPC improvement over the previous gen... i.e., marginally better than the current latest, just like every other gen.

Well, my choice was based on statistics from this site: https://www.cpubenchmark.net/high_end_cpus.html
Tbh I'm not in a rush to change the parts right now so I'll probably wait for the 9th gen and hope that prices won't skyrocket to 900$+ for a decent i7 lol.

Since both of You suggested 8700k then... You guys know how it is with OC'ing 8700k compared to 4770k? I've seen it's like 3.7 @stock so it won't be a problem to get it to at least 4.3-4.5 on a "normal" chip (I'm kinda unlucky if it comes to this)?

The 9th gen I7-9700K or I9-9900K is probably even better. It has 2 more cores and those 2 specific CPUs will be indium soldered so they should run at a much lower temperature than the 8700K.
