My new build is going to have an Rtx 2070 super and probably the b450 rog strix board. I don’t stream and I mostly just use discord in the background of games. I play games like rainbow six and pubg and was wanting to get into 1440p. I was thinking ryzen 7 2700x. The 3700x seems overpriced since the 2700x is 129.99 right now. Maybe someone has an intel suggestion? Thanks!
Ps - meshify c or phantex p400a digital?

Solution
If a B450 comes with a old bios will the 3600 not work, make sure you get a board that is compatible witht he bios like MSI "MAX" boards or the Asrock "B450M/AC"for instance. Other older MSI B450 boards have usually "USB Bios Flashback" which will be fine as well.

Can also ask the shop where it is sold if they can update the bios for you at a fee.

And a +1 for the 3600.

For your use case, an R5 3600 would be more than sufficient.
All depends on pricing though.... The 3600 has some nice IPC gains, but the 2700X is very, very well priced if it's $130?

Cases at about 10% compatibility, 90% personal preference.
I prefer the Meshify C, but the P400a is a good option too.

I meant $160 (which is still pretty great) but I was thinking 3600 would limit the 2070supers performance. I might as well go with the 2700x for now because the low price and more consistent performance at 1440p right?

I agree about the 3600 option. I would also say from the reviews I’ve seen that Asus board suffers from overheating poor VRM design. You are better off going similar MSI B450 boards.
And you think the 3600 wouldn’t hold the 2070 super back at all? I was thinking it would. Guess that’s why I’m here asking and you are answering lol

Not at all. The 3600 will outperform the 2700x for gaming due to its stronger single core performance. Just Google some reviews, it’s a great cpu. At 1440p the difference between a 2700x and 3600 will be lower than if running 1080p as the gpu becomes more important and more of a limitation at higher resolutions.
