Im in a bit of a quandary here and yeaa
So what will deliver a better performance for gaming out of the following?

An i7 7700k (Overclocked) with gtx 1080
or an i7 7700k (not overclocked) with gtx 1080 ti
Both w 16gb ram

I dont need any lectures about how I should just overclock, i just want to know the answer. Thanks

Well if you can afford it go with the 1080ti of course but really either combo would be great.

Im using a Devils Canyon i7 4790k OC @4.7Ghz with a Gigabyte Windforce OC 1080 8GB and this combo pretty much breezes through any game I throw at it. Im waiting for some developers to really design a game that puts the 10xx GTX GPUs to the test.

Also, I hear people saying that multiple GTX 1070s are a very versatile combo as well due to the fact that they are good for btc mining (compared to the 1080s VRAM). A 1070ti is coming out soon that makes it comparable to a 1080 but without the "x" VRAM. Im actually thinking about selling my 1080 for a couple of 1070s just for the hell of it.

Wait what? Can you check the model names you posted? You dont need to pay extra for overclocking if you got a K CPU. Get the non-overclocked with a 1080Ti, and overclock yourself.
Otherwise, the 1080Ti combo.
