Which CPU has the best OCing potential?

For the original cost, it's i5-750. If you are talking about what is the highest frequency I can get it to operate at, maybe the i7-8xx.

All overclock well. I'd say the best overall is probably the i7-975, but that's not really a fair comparison with most of the others. For the price, the i5 is hard to beat.

Wonder how the retail versions will do?

OK, back to reality and my miniscule bank account, they are all capable of decent OC's on air and water, it all depends on your bank account as to which one is for you.

I was mainly comparing i7-920, i7-860 and i5-750 WITHOUT considering the cost!

These 3 CPUs are at the same price level, so it should be considerably fair.

The i5 is half the price of the other two if you have a microcenter nearby, 2/3 the price otherwise.

This is kinda dumb Andy. It's like saying what model CHEVY is best, everyone has a choice of the various models, but price will come into play, options, etc.

Same with your processor question here, people with a tighter budget will pick the i5, people with the bigger bank roll will take the i7 and some people will be looking into the future for the Gulftown.

They are all GOOD processors and are ALL capable. There is NO best here, get it.
