Hello, I am kinda confused on these two CPUs and I want to ask which would be gaming. I am planning to overclock substantially. The CPU cooler is a COOLER MASTER Hyper 212.

SO, this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103724&Tpk=AMD%20Athlon%20II%20X3%20435%20Rana%202.9GHz
or

Keep in mind that it is for gaming, and some web-surfing too.

My system specs

CORSAIR XMS3 4GB
OCZ ModXStream Pro 500w
ASUS M4A77TD ATX AM3 DDR3 AMD770(not the PRO version)
SAPPHIRE Radeon HD 5850
Antec Three Hundred
SAMSUNG Spinpoint F3 500GB

My vote is the AMD Athlon II X4 620 Propus. Many people are able to OC it passed +3.0ghz w/ the stock HSF and voltage. Also, it has one more core over the Athlon II X3 435 Rana. That can't hurt :).

However, some people are able to "unlock" the 4th core on the Athlon II X3 435 Rana. Depending if your mobo supports the ACC function, I believe. It can be overclocked well passed +3.0ghz as well.
