Hi guys wanted to know which CPU is better and by how much, someone put into context the comparison.

So I currently have an AMD phenom ii x4 b60 3.3ghz cpu and I want to upgrade to Intel I5 4690k 3.5ghz cpu

I play games such as crysis, lord of the rings online, skyrim, bf3/4 so how much will the cpu help with my fps on these games?

I have a gtx 760 btw and I was thinking of getting a new cpu cause of potential bottlenecking.

Solution
The Extreme 4 is a good OC'er. You should be able to get nice OCs.

The CPU will bottle neck the GPU if it is too slow. Or if its IPC is too low. The i5 will not have that problem.
awesome, I have found in games that I can usually run at a stable 60fps until I turn or look somewhere quickly or an explosion happens or maybe there loads of bits on the screen at once and then I usually get some 50% fps drops breifly which annoys me, is this related to cpu?

also I am getting the asrock extreme 4 z97 motherboard.

here are my specs for future build

Zotac Gtx 760 OC
8GB RAM
Asrock Extreme 4 Z97
120GB SSD
Intel I5 4690k 3.5ghz will be OC'ing possibly too.

So it sounds like the CPU affects gaming just as much as the GPU?
