Which cpu is better?

Hello,
I'm tyring to update my son's cpu and i've found two that appear to be supported by the motherboard (ESC P4M800 Pro-M2.0) but I don't know which is better...can anyone help me? The two cpu's are: 1) Intel core 2 Duo E6400 2.13 GHz with 1066 BusSpeed or 2) Intel Pentium D 950 Dual-Core CPu 3.4 GHz with 800 MHz BusSpeed. These are refurbished cpu's, but they appear to be the best available for the motherboard. Thanks for your help!

I would go for the intel core 2 duo

Core2Duo hands-down.

Core2Duo was the best CPU on the market in its time.
Prescott (Pentium-D) is among the worst CPUs ever made by Intel.

Core2Duo has vastly superior performance/watt and performance/clock.
