Which CPU is better?

I can't decide which CPU i shall get. The i3 4160, or an overclocked fx-6300 the i3 probably is gonna beat the fx-6300 but the i3 is locked and the fx is unlocked, so will the fx win or the i3? Or shall i go with an i5 4460 (Which probably has not that much of a difference), i think i will get some more money and go for an i5 4690k but for now i wanna know. Overclocked fx-6300 or stock speed i3 4160? I care more about single core performance then multitasking and play games like skyrim (modded)

RAM: 8GB DDR3 1600Mhz (Crucial Ballistix, 2x4)
GPU: NVIDIA GTX 750 Ti (MSI GTX750TI Gaming 2G GDDR5)
HDD: Toshiba 1TB 7200RPM
OS: Windows 8.1 64-Bit
MoBo: GIGABYTE GA-B85M-HD3(If going for Intel), GIGABYTE GA-970A-DS3P (If going for AMD)

Definitely go for the i5-4460 if you don't have anything else at hand, but you should totally join up some pennies for that 4690K. I have a 4690 (non k) and I have yet to see it struggle with anything, good purchase.

For current games, the i3 4160 is good for gaming but the fx-6300 will probably do good in the future
Although it is better to put in more money and get the i5

Simple answer: No, so go with the Intel i3.
