A friend of mine just sent me his pc for free so trying to figure out which components are better. his cpu is AMD Phenom II X4 810 / 2.6 GHz processor | HDX810WFK4FG. I dont think his cpu is better than mine right. Also memory Patriot Signature 16GB (2 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10600) Desktop Memory (with Heatshield) Model PSD316G1333KH could i use this memory instead of mine or could i use it all together. i also changed out my old gtx770 for gtx1070. Thx for the help.

Solution
The 3570K is significantly better than the Phenom 810.

As for the RAM you should be able to swap out no problem. You could even combine them but they're not guaranteed to work as they will be mixed modules. That and if your normal usage doesn't use more than 16GB, then it will not add any benefit anyway.

If you're just gaming, then just stick to the 16GB.

your CPU is significantly better, stick with the 3570k.

As for ram you should be able to use his, and its possible that you could use both his and yours. That being said mixing ram doesn't always work, and personally unless you really need 24gb of ram I would just use his 16gb.
