Which CPU is the best?

I am building a computer for around £400.

I am torn between the Pentium G3258 (which I plan to overclock) or the Intel i3-4130.

Going forward will the hyperthreading capabilities of the I3 processor be more useful than the overclocked pentium?

Price wise the Pentium rules and you can put the money you save towards an i5 or i7 in the future!

Go with the Pentium!
Once you save enough money, you could upgrade you CPU.

If your going to OC the Pentium, you will need a Aftermarket Heat sink CPU cooler.

You can get a pretty good OC just with the stock cooler if your budget is tight! People seem to be achieving 4-4.2 just on the boxed HSF!

You kids these days with your whole line of CPUs that all fit the same socket. Why back in my day every CPU had its own platform so if you had a Celeron and wanted to upgrade to a Pentium, you needed a new motherboard. And you know what? we were grateful for it!! 😀
