Which Cpu should i choose

Okay so im currently rocking a core i5 2400 and im looking for an upgrade.My options are
Intel core i7 2600 for around 90$
Intel core i5 4570 for around 105$
Motherboard is not an issue because i can swap mine to a friend that has 1150 for free.
So im looking for raw and gaming performance.Opening apps,loading and gamimg as i said

Any chance that motherboard your friend got is with a Z series chipset? In that case get the I7-4790K.
But between those 2 CPUs, I'm probably with the I5 unless the games you are playing can take advantage of more threads, then the I7 is better.
