which cpu should I get

Is the amd fx 8350 worth it if not should I just get the amd fx6350

The 6 cores are very weak. Maybe get a fx 8320 - compromise.

Make sure you've got a good mobo though - with a 990fx chipset.

I say get the fx 8350 since it actually is both a quad core and a 8 core cpu, 4 cores for floating point performance and 8 core for the rest.

the fx 6350 is a hexa core so it will be a triple core and a hexa core.

Depends on whether you will put those extra cores to work or not. I would so I wouldn't hesitate to spend the extra $40 and get the 8350.

For $139, only $10 more than the 6350, you can get the 8320 which is just a slightly under clocked 8350 at 3.5Ghz instead of 4.0Ghz. And you can just overclock it yourself if you need the extra power.

+1 for the FX-8320. It's the same processor as the 8350, the 8350 is just a binned chip.
