Which CPU should I get?

Hi. So I'm looking to upgrade my cpu for better performance for gaming. Now I have two set on my mind and I have a small budget. Should I get Intel i5 3550 or an Intel i7 2600.

Right now I'm thinking the i5. I'll be playing games like WoW, Planetside 2, etc. Would this processor run good with these games?

WoW and Planetside 2 are really CPU heavy games. i7 2600 isnt far behind of any new haswell i7's. Also sandy overclock easiest. Both will run games fine but i would say go i7 2600.

Is it maybe 'K' version of 2600?

Then the i7 2600 should be what you get.

If gaming is your main purpose, I'd suggest the 3550. Slightly better per core performance and it's 22nms as opposed to 32, which allows for it to run a bit cooler overall with a TDP of 77.

Though the 2600 would probably FEEL more future resistant when gauged by soon to come AAA titles. Also a much more well rounded processor as your activities expand
