Question Which CPU should I upgrade to?

Hello! I have a Biostar NF520D3 Mobo (https://www.biostar.com.tw/app/en/mb/introduction.php?S_ID=462 )
I currently have a Athlon X3 II 450 clocked at 3.2GHz, and I wanted to upgrade to a best cpu for that motherboard, I know its still a pretty old mobo and I probably need a new one soon

Nothing else on the cpu support list worth wasting your money on. AM3 is long dead.
Save up for a new AMD Ryzen(AM4) platform(cpu/mobo/ram).

Forget that computer, you really should just save up and start getting a new one. This is absolute minimum, even with 16gb ram

That cpu isn't even on the support list for the OP's particular board... Phenom 2 x4 955 is the highest on the that list.

The lowest CPU I would upgrade to is the Ryzen 2600, which would require a B450 motherboard and DDR4 memory. Yes, that would be quite a bit more expensive than just upgrading the CPU on your existing platform but I am strongly opposed to throwing money at temporary fixes that might last only a year. I am still mostly happy with my i5-3470 but doubt I'll go more than one more year before the upgrade itch gets to me regardless.
