Question Which CPU should I upgrade to?

Currently I have
3060ti GPU
i7-7700K CPU
and a Z270X-Gaming K5

from my understanding the CPU and motherboard and pretty outdated and I notice some of my games dont perform to their full potential with my current setup. I run on a 1440p and even games like fortnite stutter at times. I understand that if i want to upgrade the CPU I'll probably need a new motherboard as well. What do you guys recommend? Thanks!

Yes, to get a current CPU, you would need a new motherboard (and possibly memory).

Have you tried overclocking your current rig? Are you using a SSD, instead of just a HDD?

Probably overheating or running out of ram.
Not necessary anything to do with cpu being outdated.
i7-7700K is quite a good cpu.
