Which CPU to buy

So I'm thinking of buying a Q6600 CPU.. Will it be better than my current E8400 CPU?

Can't believe there are still Q6600's around!
Ran mine at 3.2Ghz for years and only upgraded ~18 months ago. I also assume you can OC the E8400.

I'd say yes, but it depends on what you're using it for. Most things will make use of more than 2 threads now, and in anything that does, the slight clockspeed disadvantage of the Q6600 will be more than made up for by having twice the cores.
