Which cpu will better for me i7 5930k or 4790k

Hello everyone,
As the title says which cpu will be better for me (I'll be getting a new system in a month)..
Rest of the specs are,
gtx980ti
Asus X99 deluxe
corsair dominator ddr4 2800mhz 32gb of ram
corsair rm 1000w full module
CM seidon 240 water cooler
CM storm trooper
kingston hyper x 480gb ssd x2 raid 0
wd black 2tb hdd + segate hybrid 2tb Hdds

so i'll be using the system for gaming(obvious), 3d modeling(3ds max) and the most important thing Music Production with cubase.
I heard that only for gaming 4790k is better than 5930k but i as i mentioned i need the cpu for other things specially for the professional level music production for my studio as my personal system or should i choose another cpu entirely?
I want all these 3 things(music production, gaming, 3d modeling) at the best.
I'll be grateful for helpful info and suggestions and plz do tell me if i have to change something in the above specs for the better performance which around at the same prices or a bit up/down..

since you are using ddr4 ram you will have to use the i7 5930k also it should help with music productions

Well you know the 4790k is not compatible with the X99 or ddr4 RAM right? That's a pretty huge price difference. Get the 5930k if you can afford it. I recommend getting a better psu either way.

I wonder why you'd spend the extra on the I7 5930k over the 5820k. Do you want to four way sli? I mean getting three more 980ti's is really expensive.

Yes i know, the specs i mentioned are for i7 5930k.
for 4970k the specs'll be like

which PSU you think i should get? I think 1000w will be enough for me and there are two only 1000 psu available here one i mentioned Corsair rm 1000w full modular and the other is thermaltake tough power grand 1050w semi modular. What i wanted a cooler master gold silent pro 1000w.

Thanks for the info guys, so how is 5930k (3.5ghz) against 4970k (4ghz) in gaming because i read somewhere that more ghz are better for gaming, sorry i know very little when it comes to hardware.
one more question if i get 4790k with ddr3 ram and z97 motherboard i mentioned above will it be enough for music production because i know it'll be enough for gaming for 4-5 years i think..
And how much speed performance boost i'll get over 4970k ddr3 32gigs of ram with 5930k and ddr4 32gigs ram?
I mean if i can get what i want with 4970k,ddr3 then i don't need to spend extra cash, what do you recommend as i think you guys know much better than me..i think i'll also be doing video editing work with music production, 3d modeling and gaming..

600w will be more than enough, just in case you decide to overclock the i7 5930k to >4.5ghz on absurd voltages past 1.4v.

Up to ~25% extra performance. In gaming, both will be so close you can't tell any difference.

no i don't, i just never heard of 5820 that's all. the only cpus i know of are 3770/k, 4790/k, 5930/k and 5960x.
is it good compare to 5930k, the 5820?

The 5820k and 5930k are essentially the same. The only differences are in the clock speed which can be negated through overclocking and the 5930k supports 40 PCIe lanes while the 5820k supports only 28 PCIe lanes. The 5820k is usually around $200 cheaper.

I think what DubbleClick is trying to say is there's no reason to overspend on every part to get maximum performance. The biggest advantage the 4790k has, is the Z97 platform with ddr3 RAM is MUCH cheaper than the X99 platform and ddr4 RAM. Getting a $300 Z97 motherboard and +$300 ddr3 RAM COMPLETELY defeats the purpose.

Ironically, despite being 1000w, none of those psus are very good. Do you plan on using more than one video card in the future?

Yes, the I7 5820K is a much better choice if you aren't doing at least 3 or 4 way SLI/crossfire. If you plan to only use one or even two graphic cards at most then the 5820K is a MUCH better choice.

Basically all the 5930K is, is a 5820K that has 40 pci lanes, which allows for up to 4 way SLI. But on a 5820K you can do 2 way or 3 way SLI and crossfire etc.. just fine. Plus the 5820K is only about $370 vs $550 or so for the 5930K so it's a MUCH better deal.

If you're planning to do video editing/rendering, music work etc.. like you said then i'd definitely recommend the I7 5820K instead of the 4790K since like you said it's mostly a gaming CPU. The 4790K only has 8mb of L3 cache, is only 4 core 8 thread etc.. but the 5820K has 15mb of L3 cache (twice as much basically) is a 6 core 12 thread processor, which makes it FAR better for video rendering and professional work etc..
