Which CPU would be appropriate

My current build is

FX-6300
GTX 1060 6gb
8gb ddr3 1600 MHz

Due to the CPU being fairly old I'm looking to upgrade it in order to play the Battlefield V and Call of Duty.

I'm currently looking at buying an
AMD Ryzen 5 2600
Asus Prime B450-plus
8GB DDR4 2400MHz

I have no plans to overclock my CPU at any point

Im looking for whatever CPU I buy to last me another 5 years like my current one has.

Are there any cheaper options out there that would work well with my current GPU but also allow room for me to upgrade my GPU in the future.

If you're upgrading your GPU, a Ryzen 3 will begin to bottleneck GPUs starting from the GTX 1070 (very slight bottleneck - still runs smoothly).

If you consider the future, I would suggest the Ryzen 5. Preferrably the 2600X.

Get DDR4-3200 MHz RAM....

Ryzens do better with fast RAM....and the newer mainboards are better with it than the older X370/B350 series....
