I am upgrading from an and Athlon 64 X2 1mb cache 2ghz to one of these

AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000+ 3ghz 2mb L2 Cache (89w Windsor)

Or

AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000+ 3.1ghz 1mb L2 Cache (89w Brisbane)

These are the highest CPU's my mobo will take, it's an AM2 Socket.

I have ordered a GTX 460 and 4.5gb of ram also. Also a 1TB 7200rpm HDD.

What CPU would keep up with these parts better? Or which is generally faster?

Solution
the 460 is just to much gpu for that amd 6000+ x2 cpu. anything over a 9800gtx+ or gts 250 will bottleneck and the further up you go the worse it will be... especially on games that like more than 2 cores.
you may be lucky in that you may be able to use an am2+ cpu meaning a phenom tri or quad if foxcon issued a bios update. some manufacturers did others didnt forcing there patrons to buy new boards when they wernt really needed...
so yea! check the above links you may get a surprise.

Dang, I Looked though the BIOS Updates and did some googling and looks like its a NO-GO for ANY tri/ quad or any AM2+ CPU's for that matter. Oh Well I Already got the Ram And PSU Ordered just gotta figure out a CPU And GPU.

You say the GTS 250. Would the GTX 260 Be Cutting it a smudge or would it be the best to get for this mobo?

I Really Want to have a Cheap Gaming PC Aside my iMac as my iMacs HD 4670 isn't Cutting it aside from the i3-540.

What CPU Would you take? The 3.1 GHZ or 3.0 GHZ?

Also I Cant For the life of me find ANY sort of Overclocking utility in the BIOS. If I Could Overclock Maybe I Might just get the 3.0 Ghz Because It has the extra L2 Cache and I Can just overclock it :D

For Cooling I Have A LED Exhaust fan, A Top Fan, and I Ordered the Cooler Master V6 For AM2 Socket CPU Cooler. It looks pretty sick and looks like it would do a good job at cooling. What would you say as far as overclocking, CPU, and GPU?

K guys I ended up getting the 3.0ghz athlon 64 X2 2mb cache.

Along with a GTS 250, 4gb G.Skill DDR2 800 ram, and a 320gb 7200rpm WD HDD.

Now here is my new question. What's going to be my bottleneck on this system?

Don't take this as a smart ass answer but everyone suggested you upgrade to a AM3 Mb and processor. For less than a 100 bucks you could have gotten AMD Phenom x3 720 and a mother board that used DDR 2 memory from New Egg. The GTX 460 is a smoking vidoe card( the high point of the whole set up) and would handle nearly any game thrown at it. So for around 230 you would have been set. Since you downsized the Video card you could still probably stayed in budget.
