I want a new monitor, I am currently using a 17" dell. I am looking at a Dell P1130 because it is black and a flat screen Trinitron picture tube. I see it for sale between 110$-200 including shipping. I figure this is a nice upgrade from mine. I am also considering the Sony GDM-FW900 24" Widescreen Monitor, both used.

These are around 450-650$ in price so I would have to save up some more money. I have plenty of desk space for it plus it is widescreen. My main issues are the fact that both of them have VGA connectors and my video card has DVI outputs. If I get a DVI to VGA cord I can use either of these. Is DVI connection worth it? I could get and LCD with a DVI connection but I am suing the comp for Gaming and internet surfing. I don't really like how LCDs look so I am asking if VGA/CRT is better than DVI/LCD. Also does anyone have anything to say about either of the two monitors I listed, I would like to know if either of them tend to break or anything.
